MedTerm Translator is an add-in tool for Microsoft® Word that translates the Medical Dictionary for Regulatory Activities (MedDRA®), an international medical terminology defined by the International Council for Harmonisation of Technical Requirements for Pharmaceuticals for Human Use (ICH).
With this tool, MedDRA terms contained within Word documents can be accurately translated into Japanese based on the relevant version.
In pharmaceutical industry forms, many MedDRA terms are used, and the applicable MedDRA version is often noted in footnotes, etc. Accurate translation requires referring to these versions, but the process and quality control (QC) can be complex and time-consuming.
MedTerm Translator was developed to reduce this workload. It automatically recognizes the MedDRA version and performs the appropriate translation, supporting greater efficiency in translation tasks and improved QC accuracy.
MedDRA terms within Word documents are extracted, and corresponding translations based on the relevant version are listed.
MedDRA terms can be translated based on the translated text, and the translation history can be recorded as a changelog.
The details of the translation work can be saved as an Excel report, which can be used for later review and quality control (QC).
