Smart Abbreviator is an add-in tool for Microsoft® Word designed to create abbreviation lists for the pharmaceutical industry. By utilizing this tool, the burden of creating abbreviation lists is reduced, and centralized management of abbreviations becomes possible.
In the pharmaceutical industry, abbreviation lists may have relatively low importance within documents; however, the extraction of abbreviations used in the document and the verification of full spellings for those abbreviations require considerable effort and time for both creation and quality control (QC).
This add-in tool focuses on alleviating these burdens, efficiently supporting the extraction of abbreviations from documents, QC of full spellings for abbreviations, and the creation of abbreviation lists.
Lists abbreviations registered in the dictionary and detected by predefined patterns.
Automatically checks for missing or incorrect full spellings along with abbreviation extraction.
Select abbreviations to be included in the list and output them as an abbreviation list within the document.
The abbreviation dictionary can be maintained through this tool or via Excel. When using this tool for maintenance, access can be restricted by setting permissions.
